Duquesne Light Company Investing in New Technology to Enhance Grid Capacity and Reliance

Duquesne Light Company recently partnered with LineVision to install no-contact sensors on several transmission towers across DLC's service territory, which serves 600,000-plus customers. The pilot project, which began in July, uses real-time and forecasted dynamic line ratings to monitor transmission conductors and uncover additional grid capacity with the purpose of making service more resilient, efficient and affordable. more

AES Collaborates with X, the Moonshot Factory on New Grid Virtualization Technologies

The AES Corporation recently announced that it is working with X, the moonshot factory (formerly Google X) to develop tools that enable additional clean energy resources to come onto the grid at a faster pace while improving grid reliability, optimizing operations and reducing costs. Hydro One Invests in Smart Devices as Part of Grid Modernization

Since implementing the program in 2018, Hydro One has added more than 2,300 smart devices to its system, with plans to install approximately 500 devices this year. Energizing these smart devices in communities across the province has avoided 20 million customer minutes of power interruptions, the company reports. Currently, smart devices are deployed in 10 per cent of Hydro One's service territory. more

California Releases Report Charting Path to 100 Percent Clean Electricity
